Full Description

Day 1 – Hurghada to Aswan

After pickup from your hotel in Hurghada, you’ll be transferred to Aswan to board your Nile cruise. Start with a delicious lunch on board and head off to visit the High Dam, a rock-filled dam at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. Then, see the stone quarries of ancient Egypt, which contain an unfinished obelisk. Finally, visit the Philae Temple Complex, which was nearly lost under water when the high Aswan dam was built in the 1960s. After dinner on board, enjoy a Nubian Folkloric Show.

Day 2 – Abu Simbel and Kom Ombo

Your first highlight of day two will be a visit to the temples of Abu Simbel, two structures carved out of a sandstone cliff by the orders of King Ramses II. Admire the 66-foot seated figures of Ramses and the smaller structures around its feet.

After lunch, continue on to visit the Kom Ombo temples, an unusual double temple constructed during the Ptolemaic dynasty. After some free time to explore, reboard the boat to cruise to Edfu. After dinner on board, enjoy an Egyptian galabeya party, wearing traditional Egyptian robes.

Day 3 – Edfu to Luxor

Start day three by visiting Edfu temple, one of the best-preserved shrines in Egypt. The inscriptions on its walls have provided important insight into language, myth, and religion during the Hellenistic period in Egypt. Enjoy lunch on board while you sail to Esna, where you can enjoy some free time in the afternoon.

Day 4 – Disembarkation in Luxor, transfer to Hurghada

In the morning, visit the West Bank of the Nile, an area that contains some of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Visit the Valley of the Kings, a valley where rock cut tombs were excavated for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. See the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, considered one of the most important monuments of ancient Egypt. Finally, see the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of a seated Pharoah Amenhotep III. After lunch in a local restaurant in Luxor, visit the Karnak Temple Complex, a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels, and other buildings. Finish your tour with a visit to the Luxor Temple, where many of the pharaohs of Egypt were crowned.

Then, you’ll be driven back to Hurghada admiring Egypt’s landscapes along the way.
